NORD-IB

Since its foundation in 1999, the Nordic Research School of International Business (NORD-IB) has committed itself to offering courses in the field of International Business by combining the resources of leading International Business institutes in Europe.

Our mission

Since its foundation in 1999, the Nordic Research School of International Business (NORD-IB) has committed itself to offering courses in the field of International Business by combining the resources of leading International Business institutes in Europe.

Our mission is to provide PhD students with a unique opportunity to meet, learn, present, and discuss theories and research across national borders, with world-class scholars.

NORD-IB program is a joint initiative among eight business schools in the Northern European countries, including Aalto University (Finland), BI Norwegian Business School (Norway), Copenhagen Business School (Denmark), Leeds University (UK), Mälardalen University (Sweden), University of Gothenburg (Sweden), University of Manchester (UK), and Uppsala University (Sweden).

To date, over 350 PhD students have participated in the program, including several Academy of Management (AOM), Academy of International Business (AIB), European International Business Academy (EIBA), and European Doctoral programs Association in Management & Business Administration (EDAMBA) Dissertation Prize winners.

Our aims

NORD-IB aims to develop and enhance the quality of the PhD education in International Business by:

  • Giving doctoral students sound knowledge of key theories and current issues within the International Business field, taught by world-class experts of the different sub-fields of IB.
  • Providing doctoral students with a possibility to present and discuss their work with a larger group of scholars within the field.
  • Building an international network for the purpose of exchanging information and discussing ideas with distinguished scholars and doctoral students.
  • Enabling new research opportunities.

Celebration

NORD-IB celebrated their 20 years anniversary in connection to the Academy of International Business Conference (AIB) in Copenhagen in June 2019. Speeches were held followed by a very nice mingle.
