Applications

Admission to the Nord-IB program 2025-2027 is now open.

Application deadline: August 10.

Decisions will be made shortly after August 10.

The Program will start in autumn of 2025 in Västerås, Mälardalen University, Sweden.

The number of PhD students participating in the program is limited to 30.

You are expected to have a strong focus on IB in your thesis. Before entering the program, you should have some prior knowledge of scientific methods (e.g. qualitative and quantitative methods). You must be committed to participating in all modules (6), and willing to visit the respective organising institutes during the program.

Teaching is provided free of charge (your own institution's rules may apply), but you are required to cover your own travel, accommodation and meal costs.

Priority will be given to students following a doctoral program at one of the organising institutes. However, applications from other institutions are very welcome, and the majority of students typically come from other universities across Europe and beyond.

All modules are offered face-to-face at the institutes.

If you require a VISA to travel to the institutes, remember to apply well in advance.

Welcome to apply here.
